my story
I grew up in Mount Horeb, WI, just 30 minutes outside of Madison. I was a dancer my whole life and feel like that shaped me into the person I am today. I moved to Minneapolis after highschool to attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and I think it's the best decision I have ever made. My family wanted me to stay close and go to Madison, but if it was up to me I would have been on the next flight to NYC. Honestly, I went to UMN because it was in-state tuition for an out-of-state experience and I couldn't be happier here.
I have loved science my whole life. My dad always thought I was going to become this amazing engineer, and so did I. When choosing my major senior year of high school while applying for colleges I did just that, Chemical Engineering. What I hadn’t realized was how much I relied on my out-of-school activities for a creative outlet. When I got to college I quickly understood how important those after-school activities were to my creative brain and decided I needed to make a change.
Now I am a Strategic Communications Major with Minors in Interdisciplinary Design and Leadership. I am a Co-President of UMN Ad Club, a Sport Lead Intern with Gopher Sports Marketing, and a Strategist at Backpack Communication.
